This Privacy Policy describes how BetterManager ("we", "us", or "our", developed by Bogdan Sima) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). BetterManager is an AI-powered conversational sparring simulator designed for engineering and product managers to practice high-stakes workplace conversations in a safe, low-stakes environment. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Information we collect

1. Information you provide directly

We receive and process information when you access our services or interact with the App, including:

• Scenario choices, custom scenario descriptions, counterparty personas, and difficulty settings
• Messages, responses, and dialogue you submit during conversational sparring sessions
• Support inquiries, feedback, and correspondence sent to our team

2. Audio and Voice Information

When you choose to use speech input features during sparring sessions:

• Microphone access: With your permission, the App accesses your microphone to capture spoken dialogue.
• Speech transcription: Audio is converted to text using native device speech recognition frameworks.
• Storage: Raw audio recordings are processed ephemerally for transcription and are not retained long-term or sold. Only the resulting text transcripts are saved to your session history.

3. Information automatically collected

• Device information: Platform (iOS/Android), operating system version, and application version.
• Usage analytics: Information on how you navigate and interact with the App, collected via PostHog to identify workflow bottlenecks and improve usability.
• Error & Crash reports: Technical diagnostics, error stack traces, and app stability logs collected via Sentry.
• Purchase & Subscription information: Subscription status and transaction identifiers processed securely through RevenueCat and Apple App Store / Google Play Store. We do not process or store your payment card numbers.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide simulated roleplay sparring partners and adaptive conversation responses
• Transcribe your spoken input and play speech synthesis audio during practice
• Persist your sparring session transcripts so you can review progress and resume sessions
• Manage active subscription entitlements and unlocked features
• Analyze app performance, fix crashes, and enhance sparring capabilities
• Provide prompt customer support

AI Sparring Interactions & Data Protection

Sparring sessions in BetterManager are powered by artificial intelligence models (such as Mistral AI).

How do we handle conversation data?

• We do not send your personal contact information (such as email addresses) in prompts dispatched to AI models.
• Conversation turns and scenario parameters are transmitted to generate realistic workplace dialogue and counterparty pushback.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your conversation transcripts.
• Your conversation data is not used by us to train public third-party foundational AI models.
• Because sparring is designed for simulated practice, we strongly recommend that you do not include real personal names, sensitive confidential company secrets, or private individual data in scenario prompts.

Data retention

We retain your sparring sessions and messages as long as you maintain your account so that you can reference past practice sessions. You can delete individual sessions or request complete account deletion at any time.

Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encrypted HTTPS communication and secure cloud infrastructure, to safeguard your information. However, no transmission over the Internet or mobile environment is completely immune to security vulnerabilities.

Your privacy rights & data deletion

Depending on your location, you have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, rectify, or request permanent deletion of your data.

You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated sparring session records at any time by contacting us at me@bogdan.page.

Children's privacy

BetterManager is designed for professional workplace training and is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
